The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the world’s leading think tank for science and technology policy, seeks a research fellow to focus on tech policy in China for a 12-month project.  The ideal applicant should understand existing policy debates around artificial intelligence (AI), including safety and security, and be a meticulous researcher. The applicant should have experience with qualitative research methods, including conducting semi-structured interviews and analyzing policy documents. The applicant should be fluent in Mandarin and English, able to produce high-quality written memos, and comfortable working independently. This position will be based in Beijing and hired for a non-renewable 12-month term. The salary for this position will be CNY 15K to 21K per month, depending on experience.
